How to play poker including texas holden and Omaha

Poker is a game that comes in different formats, each having its own set of strategies. You can play poker online to learn about the various strategies of different games. Here we take a look at 2 popular poker games called texas holdem and Omaha.

Texas Holdem: Here the players get 2 downcards as their personal hand (hole cards). Then there is a round of betting. 3 boardcards are turned simultaneously (or popularly called a flop), followed by the next round of betting. The successive 2 boardcards are flopped one by one and followed by another round of betting after flopping of each card. The boardcards are group cards and the player is allowed to use either of 5-card combinations from the board and personal cards.

A player may choose to use all the boardcards, without touching his personal cards to complete a hand (play the board). The rounds use dealer button. The regular practice incorporates the use of 2 blinds, but you can choose to play with only a blind, many blinds, an ante, or combination of blinds and an ante.

Omaha is similar to Texas Holdem but here the player is dealt 4 boardcards. The player must use exactly 2 holecards and 3 boardcards. At the end of the game, you must show all your 4 cards to get your winnings.

In summary poker is a game that continues to grow in popularity and it does not seem to have an end to its growth in site. Many people choose to take part in their love of poker by playing online, in other words the internet. There are thousands of online poker rooms where you can play Texas Holdem and Omaha Hi. However, I would use caution when selecting an online poker room to play in. There are only a few reputable online poker rooms on the internet. I recommend you search them out and only spend your money at these honest virtual poker establishments. Many online poker rooms allow you to participate in tournaments which are a great way to test your skills with other like minded individuals who share your passion of this skilled game.
