By: Jenny Donaldson

Pugs are great dogs for many reasons but namely because they are affectionate, gentle, and loving. They make great pets even when there are young children involved and when they are trained properly they are very obedient and well behaved. They are perky, small dogs that have a short coat and a cute inquisitive face. They are also extremely smart.

There are certain issues with Pugs that any potential owner needs to be aware of before deciding to get one of these dogs as a pet however. The issue of Pug breeding is one of particular importance here and one that should be taken into consideration with great seriousness.

Filtering out the reputable breeders from a sea of back yard breeders, puppy mills and puppy brokers. Great profits can be made by dealing in quantity rather than quality dogs, as there are some heartless people in the puppy selling business.

One of the most important aspects to include in Pug breeding is choosing the right Pug breeders. There are literally hundreds of different breeds out there but many of them are considered as being mass breeders. Mass breeders are those that are more in it for the profit and really do not care about the dogs. As a result, the dogs are poorly behaved and may even be violent.

This can result in long-term problems because the behavior problems that these dogs develop at this time can be extremely difficult and even impossible to fix, even with professional training. It is well worth it for you to take the time to find a breeder that is legit and who takes care of his dogs. This way you will be ensured to get the happiest healthiest dogs possible, which is what every potential owner is looking for.
