There’s more to Paris than the Romance

Paris is known the world over for its romantic qualities, stylish fashion, gourmet food and wonderful wines, and around 30 million foreign visitors come to the city every year which makes it the world’s most popular tourist destination.

The city is also a major hub for business and has a thriving economy that would eclipse that of many entire countries! In the Paris region alone there are over 650,000 companies and as well as being the French capital, it is also considered to be the world capital for conferences, exhibitions and trade fairs.

Although the fashion houses and perfumeries of Paris undoubtedly play a vital role in the city’s economy, there is no single industry that dominates. In recent times, finance and electronics manufacturing have begun to gather pace and make a real contribution to the country's gross domestic product, or GDP as it is commonly abbreviated.

The transport infrastructure in Paris is extremely good and the envy of many cities throughout Europe and indeed the rest of the world. Getting around is never a problem and you’re spoilt for choice with high speed trains and flights in and out of the city, as well as the Metro system and tramways for getting around Paris itself.

As you’d expect from a major destination the accommodation for business travellers in Paris is plentiful and of a very high standard. Whether you want to stay near the sights with a scenic view or close by to where you’re doing business in the morning, you’ll find there is plenty of choice to suit your particular requirements.

There can be few better places in the world for a working lunch or dinner than Paris. Food is a national obsession and many of the finest restaurants on the planet are located in this culinary capital. It’s the perfect location if you need to impress a potential client or be entertained by existing ones.

As a thriving 24 hour city, Paris has plenty to see and do when your work is over for the day. The nightlife is lively, the shopping out of this world and the sights are truly sensational when lit up against the night sky. You’ll never want for interesting activities and particular highlights are the cabaret shows and cruises on the Seine. There are also many great walks around the city which are a great way to appreciate more of what it has to offer.

Visiting this fantastic cosmopolitan city on business allows you the opportunity to take in a truly unique atmosphere and culture. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what makes Paris the place it is today; maybe it’s the people, the history, the architecture or all of these and more. One thing’s for sure, however, flights to Paris are always enjoyable knowing that this unquestionably captivating city awaits you when you touch down.
